Our department started education under the name of Food Technology Program in 2001-2002 within the scope of the Program Development Project of Vocational Schools of Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MEB-YÖK) within the scope of Fırat University, Muş Vocational School. In 2007, with the establishment of Muş Alparslan University, Muş Alparslan University Vocational School has undergone a name change with the Food Technology Program under the name of Food Processing Department. With this process, Food Processing Department, Food Technology Program continued to admit students in 2009-2010 academic year. In the 2019-2020 academic year, the Food Quality Control and Analysis Program started education within the Food Processing Department. As of the 2023-2024 academic year, there are a total of eight academic staff, including two associate professors, three doctoral faculty members and three lecturers in the Food Technology Program and Food Quality Control and Analysis Programs. Our department has 144 active students in the 2023-2024 academic year. Department structure

There are 1st and 2nd year students in both programs as of the academic year 2023-2024. A total of 45 students are accepted to the department each year, 25 in the Food Technology Program and 20 in the Food Quality Control and Analysis Program. Our courses are held in Mehmet Akif Ersoy classrooms of the Vocational School of Technical Sciences. All of these classrooms have a smart board, and there is also flexible seating in the classrooms.
